Henley-on-Thames is a delightful market town situated about 50 miles west of London. The town hosts the famous Henley Regatta every July and has many historic buildings, some dating back to the 13th century.
Festivals - Henley hosts a variety of festivals from May through to Septemeber. These include: Henley Royal Regatta (first weekend in July), the Arts festival and the Traditional Boat Rally (following the regatta) and often a Food festival, a Literary festival and the Rewind festival (80s music revival).

Hotels - include the famous Red Lion, with its ghosts, and the Hotel du Vin built on the site of the old Brakspear brewery.
Restaurants - walk around the centre of Henley to find a wide selection of restaurants, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Indian, Nepalese, Thai etc and even fish and chips.
Pubs - there were once some 140 Brakspear pubs alone in the Henley area! Alas, many have closed but you can still find a wide selection including the famous Angel on the Bridge that features on many a postcard.
Clubs - the night club in Greys Road car park offers a Latin flavour night club 'Latinos' plus a lap dancing club 'Diamonds and Pearls'; after police objection, however, they are about to lose their licence. The club in Hart Street has been closed by the police.
River - you can hire boats, go for a river trip or visit the award-winning River and Rowing Museum. Or simply walk along the towpath admiring the view.
